Professional Forestry Endorsements
The West Dalhousie Crew is a team of true professionals. They bring care to every aspect of their work, for the land, and for the people and communities connected to it. Workers, landowners, and clients are all treated with fairness and respect. This family-run business clearly prioritizes doing things the right way over simply doing them the traditional way. They are innovative, methodical, and thoughtful in all they do, and anyone who works with them, whether as a contractor, client, or landowner, can attest to it.

Endorsement of the West Dalhousie Forestry Crew

LaHave Coastal is proud to endorse the West Dalhousie Forestry Crew as an outstanding partner in responsible forest stewardship.

The West Dalhousie team are skilled, experienced teammates who consistently do the right thing for trees, wildlife, and the broader natural environment. Their field work spans planting, silviculture, and fire-resilience practices informed by decades in Nova Scotia’s forests - work we have seen first-hand on projects where they helped establish thousands of native trees.
They’re delightful to work with: professional, reliable, and self-managing in the field. The crew solves problems autonomously, communicates clearly, and brings creative, cost-effective solutions that keep projects moving without sacrificing ecological integrity. Their diverse skill set - from planting and tending to hazard cleanup and deer browse mitigation - makes them an invaluable asset to landowners and conservation groups alike.

We’re grateful for their partnership and recommend the West Dalhousie Forestry Crew to anyone seeking high-quality, sustainable forestry support.

I am a retired Forest Technician. My Forestry career included working in Alberta (6 years) and Nova Scotia (35 years). The majority of my work in Nova Scotia was working as a self employed consultant and contractor on private land.
Adam Forrest grew up in my neighbourhood and worked with me for 20 years. He has experience in treeplanting, Pre Commercial Thinning and power saw operation. I found Adam to be very reliable and a hard worker. There are very few people working in the woods today who could come close to Adam’s dedication to high quality.
In my opinion, the real work in the forest industry is done in the woods and Adam Forrest is one of the rare individuals left who can get the job done.

Adam Forrest has conducted contract planting, silviculture, and forestry labour work for the Western Woodlot Services Co-op (WWSC) for the last 4 years, completing over 30 hectares of planting, manual weeding, and pre-commercial thinning as well as numerous other forestry labour tasks from road right-of-way clearing to property boundary line maintenance for various landowners who are members of WWSC. During his work for the WWSC Adam has demonstrated his proficiency, professionalism, and skill operating chainsaws, brush saws, as well as in planting trees.
With over 25 years of experience in the forest industry Adam has learned the value of delivering quality work and has always met or exceeded standards for silviculture, planting, and forestry labour tasks that he has conducted for WWSC. Adam consistently demonstrates care and concern for the forest at large, which is reflected in the quality of his work. I would highly recommend Adam Forrest for any planting, silviculture, or forestry labour task.
