West Dalhousie Forestry Crew is seeking dedicated forestry labourers to join our team for various silviculture and land management projects across Nova Scotia.

What You'll Do

Work varies based on project needs and may include:

Tree planting, pre-commercial thinning (PCT), spacing, and weeding operations. Chainsaw work including felling, limbing, and bucking. Road and boundary clearing, brush hauling, and stacking. Saw operations for spacing and thinning treatments.

Who We're Looking For

We welcome candidates with forestry labor or piece work experience, as well as those eager to learn the trade. Whether you have experience in some or all of these areas, we'll consider your application if you bring a strong work ethic, commitment to quality and safety, and willingness to develop your skills.

Compensation

Many of our projects are piece work positions, and we pay above industry standards. Not familiar with piece work? We're happy to explain how it works and answer your questions.

Forestry Labourer Job Description
​

West Dalhousie Forestry Crew is seeking motivated individuals to join our team for hands-on forestry work in Nova Scotia's Annapolis Valley. We're a family-run business with 30 years of experience, focused on sustainable forest management and educating our crew and clients about proper forestry practices.

What You'll Do:

  • Haul brush and clear vegetation

  • Plant trees and assist with silviculture projects

  • Maintain trails and forest boundaries

  • Support land clearing and fire mitigation work

  • Interact professionally with residential and commercial clients

  • Opportunity to operate chainsaws and spacing saws with demonstrated aptitude and proper training

What We're Looking For:

  • Strong work ethic and eagerness to learn forestry skills

  • Physically fit and able to work outdoors in variable weather conditions

  • Ability to perform demanding physical labour throughout the day

  • Positive attitude and good communication skills

  • Reliable and safety-conscious

  • No previous forestry experience required—we provide mentorship and training
