At West Dalhousie Forestry Crew, we believe a career as a forestry labourer is worthwhile and rewarding, forestry workers, however, do not spring fully formed from the forest floor.
Too many people say that today's youth don’t want to work and that there is not an abundance of silviculture work to be found. This is of course not true. Our crew is run off its feet, the industry is booming, and starved for new workers.
This is why we started the West Dalhousie Forestry Crew, to pass our skills to the next generation of silviculture workers and empower rural youth (or anyone interested in the industry) to shape the forest and their communities.
We have assembled a solid crew of veteran tree planters, spacing saw operators, and chainsaw operators, which allows us to offer valuable one-on-one mentorship in a safe and productive setting. This allows future silviculture labourers the skills they need for a successful career in the industry.
If you are interested in joining the silviculture industry and want to work with an experienced crew that takes pride in mentoring, please reach out, we'd be happy to chat.
